Patrick Mahomes favored over Tom Brady for Super Bowl LV MVP – ESPN
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30778636/patrick-mahomes-favored-tom-brady-super-bowl-lv-mvp

Tom Brady has won more Super Bowl MVPs than any other player, but he’s not the favorite for the award in Super Bowl LV.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the odds-on favorite to be named MVP of this year’s Super Bowl, listed at -120 at Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill. Brady is next at +190.
Mahomes won Super Bowl MVP last year when he accounted for three scores, including two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter that helped rally the Chiefs past the San Francisco 49ers for a 31-20 win in Super Bowl LIV.
Brady has been named MVP in four of his six Super Bowl wins, his last award coming in 2017 when he helped the New England Patriots overcome a 28-3 deficit to beat the Atlanta Falcons.
The quarterback of the winning team has won MVP 29 times, including in eight of the past 11 Super Bowls. But there are some intriguing playmakers on both teams. Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill and tight end Travis Kelce are each 13-1. Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette is 25-1, followed by Kansas City running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire at 30-1.
Tampa Bay wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are each 30-1. Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett and Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu have the best odds of any defensive players at 40-1.
Super Bowl LV kicks off Feb. 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The Chiefs are consensus 3-point favorites over the Buccaneers.

Who is Brittany Galvin, The Bachelor woman accused of being an escort? – New York Post
https://nypost.com/2021/01/25/who-is-brittany-galvin-accused-escort-on-the-bachelor/

“The Bachelor” franchise is no stranger to odd jobs, but this alleged “profession” is sure to get fans talking.
In an ABC promo that aired in December, there were whispers in the house about a possible “escort” being among the contestants for Matt James’ season.
Finally, we have a face to pair with the rumors.
Brittany Galvin, 23, is the contestant accused of being an escort in Season 25, according to spoilers from “Bachelor” guru Reality Steve.
“Brittany is a sexy and sassy woman who is ready to take a different approach to her dating life,” her ABC bio states. “Single for the first time in a long time, this serial monogamist is ready to break out of her Chicago bubble and experience love with a new type of man.”
Here’s everything we know so far about this explosive first in the franchise.
Where did the escort rumor come from?
Galvin reportedly arrives at the Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania — along with four other women after rose ceremony No. 2 — with her name in everyone’s mouth.
“In this house, there are no secrets,” a voice said in the December promo video. “I’ve heard two different terms going around, I’ve heard ‘sugar baby’ and ‘escort.’ ”
Another contestant alleged in the video that someone “may be having a transactional relationship with wealthy men.”
Reality Steve reported that Brittany, who lives in Chicago, was recognized by fellow contestants Kaili and Anna, who both hail from the Windy City.
“Kaili is the one that accuses Brittany of being an escort, I assume because of things she’s heard around Chicago being in the club scene,” Reality Steve wrote. “And then Anna, also being from Chicago, apparently has heard things as well and jumps in and that’s where the drama starts.”
ABC did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
She kisses Matt
On her first night, Brittany comes in hot — passionately kissing Matt upon her arrival. In a video posted to her Instagram, she can be seen locking lips with “The Bachelor” while the other girls look on in anger.
She’s a model
The brunette beauty wrote on Instagram in September that she “got signed with Wilhelmina Models about a year ago,” but has had hardships along the way.
“Being a new face in the industry put a lot of pressure on getting myself exposure,” she wrote. “The first few months I really pushed and went to every casting and did test shoot after test shoot to fill my book. At one point I was doing 3 photoshoots and 2 castings in a day. Reflecting back on that is incredibly rewarding to me because I’ve grown so much. To every person I’ve met/worked with along the way you’ve made an impact on me and my career.”
She’s a yogi
Brittany seems to have tons of hobbies, including horseback riding and off-roading on ATVs, but loves to show off her yoga skills — and her rockin’ body — on Instagram.
She dated a soccer star

As Cosmopolitan noted, Brittany has photos with soccer player Drew Conner buried deep in her Instagram account, which likely means they were once dating. There’s even a post where he wishes her a happy birthday in a cuddling picture.
She has a famous sister

Brittany’s sister Missy Galvin is an actress and has appeared in “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.” and “Empire,” according to IMDB.

California officials confirm over $11 billion in unemployment fraud during pandemic | TheHill – The Hill
https://thehill.com/homenews/news/535796-california-officials-confirm-over-11-billion-in-unemployment-fraud-during

California officials confirmed on Monday that over $11 billion in unemployment benefits paid amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic involved fraud.
The state paid at least $11.4 billion, which is approximately 10 percent of benefits paid during the pandemic, in funds that involved fraud, the California Employment Development Department confirmed to The Hill. Seventeen percent of the rest of total benefits paid are under investigation.
“There is no sugarcoating the reality,” California Labor Secretary Julie Su aid during a press conference Monday, the Los Angeles Times reported. “California has not had sufficient security measures in place to prevent this level of fraud, and criminals took advantage of the situation.”
The state has paid $114 billion in unemployment benefits since the start of the pandemic last March, with officials processing approximately 19 million claims.
Officials warned that many of the seventeen percent of claims under investigation could also involve fraud.
Su on Monday said that the Trump administration did not provide adequate guidance and resources to California amid the pandemic, as swaths of businesses were forced to close under health orders. She said that almost all of the fraudulent claims were filed through a federal program that provides unemployment benefits to the self-employed, independent contractors and others.
“We now know that as millions of Californians applied for help, international and national criminal rings were at work behind the scenes working relentlessly to steal unemployment benefits using sophisticated methods of identity theft,” Su said, according to the Times.
California’s Employment Development Department announced last month that it was freezing 1.4 million unemployment claims to verify identities.
The Department has hired a contractor to verify the identities of claimants, ID.me, which found that approximately 30 percent of claims filed between Oct. 1 and Jan. 11 were blocked over fraud concerns, according to the Times.
The state is also grappling with a backlog of unemployment claims amid the pandemic, which totaled 916,000 claims as of last week.

‘Bachelorette’s’ Dale Moss opens up about split from Clare Crawley: ‘There’s no one person to blame’ – Fox News
https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/bachelorette-dale-moss-opens-up-clare-crawley-split

Dale Moss is speaking out regarding his breakup with Clare Crawley.
The former “Bachelorette” couple made headlines in November when it was revealed that Crawley would leave the show just a few weeks in — as she felt she’d already found her winner in Moss, who had initially proposed to her.
Now, the former NFL wide receiver is taking to social media to shed some light on his split with Crawley, 39, after a brief social media hiatus.
In a series of Instagram Stories on Monday, Moss, 32, noted that he finally felt “comfortable” to speak on the situation after the split.

“I finally feel comfortable getting on here after having some time to process everything that’s gone on,” Moss prefaced the initial Story. “I know a lot of y’all have seen me smiling on social media and say I don’t seem as hurt or burdened by this, but that’s the farthest thing. This time has sucked.”
“Thank God I have the friends and the family that I’ve had, because they’ve literally had to carry me through the last two-plus weeks,” Moss continued.

Moss confessed that the pressures of having a public relationship factored into the couple’s high-profile split.
“Building a relationship, in general, is tough, especially when you’re doing it in the public eye,” Moss noted. “Media will take things and run with them. People will spread lies or always want to point the finger. But the fact of the matter is, there’s no one person to blame in this situation.”

Moss continued, noting that every relationship has its “ups and downs.”

“Like every relationship, we’ve had our ups and downs and gone through our own things. But the statements that came out, this didn’t come out of nowhere,” he continued, seemingly alluding to Crawley’s recent claim that she “was made aware of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time” the public saw Moss’ initial announcement of the break-up last week.
“I love Clare and respect Clare enough to let her know how I feel, even if that’s against the expectations of everybody else,” he added.
CLARE CRAWLEY, ‘BACHELORETTE’ STAR, SPEAKS OUT FOLLOWING DALE MOSS SPLIT: ‘I AM CRUSHED’
Though Moss soldiered on with a brave face throughout his Stories, he did mention that it would take time for him to move on and have some normalcy return to his life.
“It’s going to take time. I wanted nothing more than to make this relationship work,” Moss said. “[…] While this is going to be difficult, what you’ll see from me is trying to practice what I preach and continue to put my best foot forward each and every day. While trying to find some sense of normalcy, I’m also going to try and find joy and happiness in each day and continue to share that.

“Everything else is in God’s hands,” he concluded.
Crawley released a statement on Instagram regarding the break-up on Thursday, noting that, “This was not what I expected.

“Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been clear, so the truth is I am crushed,” the star continued. “This was not what I expected or hoped for and am still trying to process this.”

The reality star then reflected on the year 2020, calling it “one hell of a year.”
She said that in 2020, she faced “severe anxiety,” the coronavirus pandemic, “balancing a public new relationship” and “slowly losing my mother” — circumstances that left her “looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel.”
